This month marks one year that we’ve owned our home. Like most things, it’s hard to believe a year has past, but it feels like we’ve lived in the house for longer. So, today, I thought I would give a little glance back at our house when we bought it and how it looks now.

Just a note, this post is very photo heavy. So, just don’t get mad halfway through when you are tired of scrolling. I warned you.

As most of you know, our house was absolutely disgusting when we moved in. We immediately redid the pantry. It was nasty.

Speaking of nasty. I know you’ve been dying for another look at the hairy fan.

Then the kitchen. The kitchen went through a couple stages of despair. Here is what it looked like when we bought the house. Note the beige color of the tile.

Then we peeled the beige paint off the tile. Behold the pink tile.

Then we redid the entire kitchen with lots of paint and help from Matt’s parents.

Next up, painting the guest bedroom.

The room is actually not as yellow as these pictures make it out to be. It was dreary outside when I took the pictures.

Then I added some wall art.

Somewhere along the way we redid the family room. Here’s what it looked like when we bought the house. Yes, that is a large mirrored image of New York City.  Unfortunately, in our efforts to get it off the wall, a piece of it broke off. So, no, we still don’t have it.

Here’s the after. I think I want to paint the coffee table…what do you think?

And, lastly, the dining room.

All of the rooms still need a few more details to make then complete, but the house is muuuch better now.  We still have lots to do, but it’s starting to feel more like a home!
